Elon Musk regains trillion‑dollar status as SpaceX and Tesla shares climb
Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has reclaimed his position as the world’s only dollar‑denominated trillionaire. Forbes reports that on October 5, the entrepreneur’s net worth again topped $1 trillion after a sharp rise in the share prices of his companies on US exchanges. Over a single day, Musk’s fortune increased by $30.6 billion as SpaceX stock rose more than 5% and Tesla shares also advanced.
Musk first reached this financial milestone in June, when SpaceX’s listing pushed the company’s valuation to $866 billion and his personal wealth above $1.1 trillion. However, by the end of July, a decline in the aerospace company’s stock cost him the title. The recent uptick in quotes has recovered those losses and restored his lead.
The new surge cements Musk’s position at the top of the global rich list by a record margin. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, in second place, has a net worth of roughly $371.5 billion—more than $600 billion behind Musk. Analysts attribute investor optimism to successes in space programs, growth in satellite communications, and robust demand for the advanced technologies developed by Musk’s companies.
